GET TO KNOW OUR AREA:

As a Solution Architect for the DevOps Platform at Bayer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our software development ecosystem. The DevOps Platform is essential to Bayer’s software development activities, providing engineers and product/program managers with the necessary tools and capabilities for mature product delivery.

These tools include, but are not limited to, GitHub and Azure DevOps.

Aligned with our vision to empower all engineers at Bayer to build and run secure, compliant, and high-quality solutions efficiently, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end solutions that meet the diverse needs of our developers and stakeholders.

Your role is crucial in ensuring these solutions adhere to Bayer’s security, compliance regulations, and cloud best practices, thereby supporting our unified, cost-effective suite of DevOps tools and resources.

YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:

  1. Design end-to-end solutions that meet the requirements of Bayer’s developers and other stakeholders;
  2. Ensure solutions are in line with company security and compliance regulations and cloud best practices;
  3. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks to optimize or provide new capabilities;
  4. Maintain and enhance technical documentation;
  5. Maintain good relationships with stakeholders and consumers;
  6. Consult stakeholders and consumers on DevOps Platform usage;
  7. Manage holistic picture of DevOps Platform capabilities and give guidance to translate into individual product needs;
  8. Identify and pursue opportunities for self-improvement of technical and non-technical skills;
  9. Take the initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked;
  10. Articulate and advocate new technical and non-technical ideas.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE POSITION?

Must have:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience as a software engineer;
  2. Extensive experience with DevOps practices, with a strong focus on automation / CI/CD;
  3. Strong understanding of architectural styles and design patterns;
  4. Proficiency in DevOps tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Artifactory);
  5. Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS preferred), with a focus on cloud native technologies including Kubernetes, Lambda;
  6. Experience with “Well-Architected Framework”, infrastructure as code practices (e.g. Terraform) and agile development methodologies;
  7. Inter-cultural understanding and experience;
  8. Strong communication, sorun solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills;
  9. Fluent English level for conversation;
  10. Availability to work in a hybrid model.

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience in application security
  2. Certifications for abovementioned skills.
